Let me tell you my story…
Hey, I’m Yasmine (Yas-meen)! I’m a passionate UX mixed methods researcher and designer based in NYC, with 6+ years of experience delivering creative solutions to my various clients. A majority of my experience has been working within the e-commerce, healthcare, manufacturing and enterprise spaces. My journey into UX has been extremely impactful to who I am as a UX professional, leader, mentor and peer. In 2017, I started my journey as a UX Design consultant for startup companies while simultaneously working as a Customer Insights Manager for Starbucks. I knew I wanted to be an advocate for users but I needed the experience before fully submerging myself into the UX world.
During my time at Starbucks, I learned what leadership was, how to build and lead teams throughout New York Metro, assess and create standard operating procedures, increase customer connection metrics and so much more. It was seven years of vigorous training, learning the art of storytelling, being adaptable, paying close attention to detail and building relationships which provided me a set of skills to add to my toolkit.
I transferred everything I learned into UX and landed some roles within large corporations such as McKesson and GE Aerospace, conducting research to drive design strategy and measure the impact on the user experience. I have experience working cross-functionally, conducting quantitative and qualitative studies, facilitating workshops, mentoring junior UX designers, etc.
